AI IN TOWNSHIPS

AI in Townships aims to put youth from townships at the centre of creating innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence. It is a platform for youth who often lack access and opportunity, to apply critical thinking to social problems using AI tools in conjunction with principles of design thinking and an entrepreneurial mind-set immersed within the communities ecosystem.

AI IN SOWETO

AI in Soweto’ is the first event of AI in Township Series targeted at Soweto school girls through a Boot Camp that teaches them use of AI, Ethics in AI, Design thinking methods and fosters an innovative outlook to address social problems within the community. Based in South Africa's most iconic township, the intervention will showcase the aptitude and skill of Soweto girls to address challenges of today.

EDUCATE 1 MILLION (EDU1MIO)

AI in Townships is an Edu1MIO initiative. Edu1MIO is an programme of the Kgalema Motlanthe Foundation and Fliptin, with the support of other partners whose aim is to expose children to technology using practical, hands-on, experiential learning using the disciplines of Artificial Intelligence(AI), Robotics, Virtual Reality(VR) and Internet of Things (IoT) in order to motivate them to follow STEAM careers and Entrepreneurship
